Certification Process
At P3 Systems, we take extreme pride in our "Good as New" Program, and we know that our equipment (and ultimately our customer service) can only be as good as our certification process. We put each piece of networking equipment through a rigorous testing, reconditioning and certification process to meet or exceed the original factory specifications.
Receiving
The receiving process for potential "Good as New" equipment is rigorous and carefully planned. Every piece of equipment is coded and tracked, from the moment it is received at our facility, to the moment it arrives in your hands. This tracking allows us to keep a detailed account of all of the equipment that we handle, ensuring that each piece of equipment is worthy of being labeled "Good as New". In addition, our tracking procedures help guarantee the accuracy of our certification process.
Physical Inspection
The second step to our certification process involves a complete physical inspection of every piece of equipment, no matter the size or quantity. During this step, any piece of equipment that is deemed to be in an unacceptable condition is immediately rejected, guaranteeing that no unsatisfactory equipment makes it to our "Good as New" program. In fact, a piece of equipment can be rejected at any step in our certification process!
Tracking Assignment
After the physical inspection, every piece of equipment is assigned a unique barcode. This inventory system not only allows us to keep track of what we have in stock, but also allows us to be able to pull up the history of the equipment long after it has been integrated into its new environment. Based on this information, we can continue to provide your company with the best solutions for future needs.
Diagnostic Testing
The equipment is now ready to be tested. Our technicians run each piece of equipment through a variety of diagnostics, including ensuring that the device powers on, passes the "Power On Self Test", and has the most up-to-date DRAMM and FLASH memory. We attempt to fix any of these operations that are not performing to par, and in any case where the malfunction cannot be fixed, we deem the device defective. Only hardware that is in perfect working order is moved to the next step in the certification process.
Live Network Testing
Once a piece of equipment has made it through our diagnostic testing, we use live networking testing to ensure that it will live up to our extreme standards in a real-life situation. We make sure all ports on the device are operational and are passing traffic. We also test to make sure all LED lights on the ports are functional.
Reset Configurations
The next step is to reset each piece of equipment back to its factory default mode, to ensure that all IP addresses, passwords or proprietary information associated with the equipment's previous owner is removed and deleted. We guarantee that all equipment will be clean, set to factory defaults, free from previous configurations, and ready to handle your own business traffic. You'll never receive a product still configured with the previous owner's confidential information or passwords.
Phone Testing
On most models, we begin by completely changing out the housing, to give it a cosmetic uplift and greatly improve the look and feel of the overall phone. We also swap out the buttons, designation strips/plastic covers, and clean the phone using non-abrasive, non-sticky cleansers. This means a blemish-free phone, that looks brand new! Once the phone is looking up for the job, we test to make sure every feature is operational, by placing calls to and from the phone, checking the handset, speaker functionality, all buttons and lights, and all lines.
Reconditioning
Once a piece of equipment has been proven to be in the utmost of operational condition, we start spending time on cleaning it up, from the inside out. We remove the covers and blow out all excess dirt and debris, and check for any water damage, or any residue that could damage proven-working parts. All excess or foreign labeling is removed from all sides, and we re-paint any covers or surfaces that need it.
Final Inspection
During this final step, we re-check all screws and ports. We verify all labels are correct, and all covers and casings are in perfect condition, and that all cords are attached. Any piece of equipment that has received any sort of modification or repair goes through a second set of diagnostic tests to ensure it holds up to manufacturer's specifications.
