What is the difference between refurbished, Guaranteed Pre-owned and used?

Whether you buy used, refurbished, or guaranteed pre-owned, P3 Systems assures that the network equipment you purchase is in top condition. Most of your orders come from official manufacturers, such as Cisco, and are then resold to end users.

"Refurbished" simply means that the equipment may have had minor repairs or improvements done to make it like new again. "Used" equipment is in an "as-is" condition, but is thoroughly tested to make sure it is fully functional.

With our guaranteed pre-owned line, "Good as New", all equipment undergoes detailed testing, reconditioning and certification. All original factory specifications are either met or exceeded.

We also sell "new/open box" units that have never been used, but are resold.

What is your warranty for end-user customers?

Our end-user warranty is one (1) year.

What is your warranty for retail customers?

All retail customers receive a 30 day warranty, which provides you time to verify functionality via your testing facility.

Do you test the equipment you sell?

New and new-in-box products are not tested by us. Our used and re-furbished equipment such as routers and switches, are tested. As-is equipment may have been tested by us to arrive at the as-is designation.

What type of equipment do you carry and stock?

We stock common equipment such as routers, switches, access points, security devices, phones, network cards, etc. We have inventory both at our Rochester, N.Y., location and in our warehouse in Utah, with access to thousands of parts. When you need a part, check with us to see if we have it and at what price.

What can I expect when I buy used hardware?

By the time you receive pre-owned hardware, it has already gone through a rigorous testing process, so you don't need to worry about the state of your equipment. There may be slight cosmetic factors such as scratches, but it does not affect the equipment's performance in any way.
